Bredonborough Rising heroically at On

Bredonborough.
Rising heroically at 07.30. On the street…
… for MinxReading of the Sunday variety.
A bright and sunny day, the third such in succession…
Gentle morning reading…
… and Bloxworth House is for sale…
Bloxworth is the village where Tom Sawyer, my Father’s auction room manager, was born and grew up. Tom told me many stories of teenage life in pre-war Dorset, belonging to an earlier age in the world, and most of which are unrepeatable in this Diary. In the early 1970s I attended a young-persons’ party at Bloxworth House when the parents were away. Now, much-poshoed up and with garden by Martin Lane Fox, the vendor, it is on the market for £4 million.
Mr. Hands’ own Endless Grief…
And into the Cellar.
13.51 Lunch by the back door. Off for an afternoon of MinxAdventures.
17.30 To Showborough House for their
Garden Sculpture Exhibition I…

We have become regular visitors to Showborough.
Then to acquire some new koi, to make friends with the three who escaped the heron’s visitations yesterday.
Home, and introducing the piscine pals to each other. One of our own chums popped up on SkyArts…
… Brother Rieflin, on tour with REM.
18.33 In the Cellar, online and e-flurrying. An enquiry from an Orc VII: What is your feeling on the direct association of OCG with G. and co.?
From the reply…
i am not an evangelist for The Work.
i aim to support those who are working!
i happily acknowledge the connection to JGB & EB, and note their opinion of mr. G.
without the lineage, GC and the OCG would not be what they are.
we are a creative development and offshoot of the JGB line.
anything which has the effect of presenting GC as a categorised thing provokes dismay, as per KC in the UK.
someone Who Is In The Work is probably already out of the creative current through which one recognises... a way of working!
PS probably, the only reason one would trumpet the lineage is because they felt their own work was in need of an external authority.
GC and The OCG is able, by now, to speak for itself, while gratefully acknowledging those who make that possible.
Shortly off for some more local socialising: Tom and Suzie.
22.23 A fab, informative, social and enlivening evening with these two bright members of their generation. Supper outside, looking at Bredon Hill, then dessert inside. A look at Tom’s new studio and new Roland electric piano, which is convincingly not-electric.
Home to WillyFred and gentling.
